About NWTElection.ca

NWTElection.ca is a voter resource built by OpenNWT based on a platform created by Open Democracy Manitoba. OpenNWT exists to makes government more open and accountable, and focuses on developing tools that make public information more accessible. Learn more about OpenNWT.

This site features riding maps, constituency descriptions, election news, a calendar of election events, and educational resources about voting and government. Candidates are listed along with links to their web pages, contact details, and social media accounts. News articles that mention candidates are listed and we will be adding links to candidate questionnaires where possible.

Site Platform

This election information site platform was developed by Open Democracy Manitoba as a platform for community-driven election information. This platform has been used at ManitobaElection.ca for the past three elections in Manitoba.

History of NWTElection.ca

This is the first edition of NWTElection.ca. Finding information on candidates in the election can be a challenge – more than it should be. After seeing similar efforts in other provinces and territories, it was clear that a similar solution was needed in the NWT.

Not Affiliated with Elections NWT

NWTElection.ca has no affiliation with Elections NWT or the NWT territorial government.

Elections NWT, the official Election authority for territorial elections, runs the official Elections NWT website as well as their Electorhood tool. Its site includes additional information related to the voting process, being a candidate, voter registration and a poll location search tool.
